What is your favorite tea? I drink all types, but always from this cup! The ‘wiggle’ shape adapts well to being held with one or two hands, and your fingers will sink in nicely. This way, during your daily tea ceremony, you can also warm your hands.
The material used for the creation of this ceramic is a black stoneware, slightly brown in some areas. It is not a commercial clay but rather artisanal, crafted by an artisan on Lake Orta who sources all the materials for the mixture locally, from different areas of Piedmont. Created on the pottery wheel and hand-decorated by Giulio, it expresses influences from Japanese ceramic firing, a source of great fascination for the artisan. The deep black color evokes the spirit of raku, and his goal is to recreate modern ceramics that still pay homage to tradition.
Stoneware fired at 1220 degrees is highly water-resistant. For proper maintenance, the artisan still recommends washing and drying the ceramics after each use.
